June 22 and 23

June 22 - I finally got some pics of Lance at swimming lessons.  He is getting better.  He has known how to swim for a while now, but it isn't pretty.  He is starting to figure out how to get those long arms of his into the water without emptying the pool.

June 23 - Last day of Cheer Camp!  Allie has had so much fun.  She hasn't picked up too much on the arm motions, but did surprisingly well on the dance.  Maybe she is meant to be a dancer...
She is starting to get the hang of swimming without holding on to her nose.  I bribed her with a bath in my tub and she went under for me.  I think the security of being in the tub helped her brave up and do it in the pool.  Her teachers were quite impressed with her progress!!
Lance started working on the back stroke.  Wow... A whole other stroke to get him to figure out how NOT to flop like a fish!!

Today they got to go to the deep end and jump off.  The teacher asked who wanted to go first and the three girls in his class pointed at him.  It was so funny.  He jumped straight in and swam over to the teacher.  The girls sat on the edge and dropped in.  I was a little surprised, but very proud of him since he hadn't been swimming in water that deep before.

Cheer Camp and Swim Lesson Day 2

Allie is still loving cheer camp.  I went about 15 minutes early today and watched them.  The high school girls are great with them and they play lots of fun games in between little cheers.  She is having a great time.  Lance got to go to the movies with his friend Cris today and I got a couple of hours alone!  That doesn't happen much (OK, at all) in the summer, so I really enjoyed it.  Even if all I did was watch bad TV and clean the kitchen.  :)  After talking with Allie's swim instructor yesterday, she worked with Allie a bit on her own today.  She actually dunked her a couple of times.  This pic was taken just before the first dunk.  You can see the excitement, along with complete fear in her face.  We came home and I bribed her with bath time in my tub if she would work on going under water.  It worked!!  She went under quite a few times and is bragging about herself now.  She can't wait to go to class tomorrow and show off her new skill!

Cheer Camp and Swim Lessons

Today begins our busiest week of the summer.  Allie has cheer camp in the morning and then both kids have swim lessons at noon.  It was a great day and they both had a blast.  Allie loved cheer camp and Lance and I had fun having some one on one time together at Starbucks.  I'm not sure what the first picture says about her knowledge of cheering, but it will certainly be interesting to see how things progress over the next few days.  As for swimming, I told her swimming coach today to force her to swim without holding her nose.  She does really well, but has to hold her nose, which limits how far she can go.  I watched  her and her instructor discussing it and Allie shaking her head no.  What will I do with this child??  LOL!!  As for Lance... well, he got jipped on swimming pics today.  He was too far away.  I will bring the larger lens tomorrow.  :)

Father's Day

We had such a busy weekend working on the house, and nothing planned for Father's Day, I almost didn't get a pic!  I managed to wrangle them all up and snap one right before bed.  They are a pretty cute bunch.

Finally!!

The last Rangers game we went to, we signed the kids up for the Jr. Rangers.  Of course they were out of the kits so they had to wait... and wait... and wait.  For about a month.  Today, they finally came!  They got a cool hat, backpack and lanyard, along with a bunch of free tickets and coupons (for the parents).  Nice ending to a fun day at the pool with friends!

Back at it!!

I can't believe it has been almost a year since I have updated this thing!!  I keep thinking about it, but just haven't done it.  I figured it was about time.
This is a pic of Jeff and Allie reading.  She is really starting to read well by herself and I love that she is so excited about it.  She favors reading with Jeff because he holds the book up so she can lay on her back.  She thinks that is pretty cool.
